Chinese autonomous delivery vehicle maker Neolix has partnered with EV charging network operator TELD to launch “Power Island” in Qingdao on May 8. The facility handles parking, charging, cleaning, self-diagnostics, and maintenance for Neolix’s growing fleet of delivery robots — all without human intervention. The facility addresses a critical bottleneck in the autonomous delivery industry: most charging stations still rely on human operators.

 

Power Island eliminates this last human dependency, creating a fully automated “charge-run-maintain” loop for urban delivery fleets while reducing operational costs that have long plagued last-mile delivery robots.Each Power Island can accommodate 100 autonomous vehicles simultaneously, delivering a 90% charge in 60 minutes.

 

The companies aim to build 300 main islands and 3,000 relay stations across 100 Chinese cities within three years, serving a combined fleet of 300,000 vehicles.

 

An overseas expansion plan targets 30 islands across 10 international markets, exporting China’s autonomous logistics model.

 

Neolix vehicles already operate in the UAE, Thailand, Singapore, and Japan — with a UAE target of 10,000 units in 2026 alone.

 

The joint venture, Qingdao TELD Neolix Autonomous Vehicle Operations Co., formally launched with 12 state-owned urban investment platforms as early partners to roll out the network at city scale.
